Our Hygiene Promise

Creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all of our members is our primary concern here at Gracie Barra Roundhay Leeds.  To build trust with our customers and to ensure accountability as a business we have produced the following Hygiene Promise.  We believe it sets the standard for martial arts facilities in our city.

All members will be sent an electronic copy of our Promise prior to attending their first class.  We want you to expect a lot from us, we will ask for a small amount from you in return.

By working together we can ensure that our facilities remain open, are spotlessly clean and that we are able to focus on our training fully without distraction.

Looking forward to seeing you on the mat soon!

Mike

Ps.  Please see what we are doing specifically to ensure our facilities are safe and preventative against COVID-19 transmission in the separate section at the bottom of this document.

5 – You will maintain good levels of personal hygiene and be respectful to other members of our team

COVID-19

We want to reassure you that we take our COVID responsibility very seriously.  In addition to our Hygiene Promise, we commit to exceeding Government standards by implementing the following practices:

  • Completion of a COVID-19 risk assessment - shared with all staff.

  • Increased cleaning protocols with an emphasis on regular surface cleaning.

  • A temperature check of all those entering the academy. Anyone registering a temperature in excess of 37.8 Celsius will not be allowed to enter.

  • Asking our members & parents to wear face coverings in all areas of the academy with the exception of the mats.

  • Our seating plan will be reduced and reconfigured to be reflective of current social distancing guidance >2m.

  • We will make available a record of all members attending classes for NHS Test and Trace and will log any additional parents and visitors.

  • We will increase ventilation, particularly in the main training area, by keeping windows and doors open.

  • We will be robust in turning away any members or visitors who present perceived symptoms of COVID-19 - sorry, we don’t want to offend but we must put the safety of everyone first.

  • We will limit the number of people into the academy to 25 at any one time. This exceeds government guidance and will mean that the following caps on class sizes will be in effect:

    - A maximum of 20 adult members on the mat per class.

-A maximum of 5 trial members in each GB1 class (not in addition to members).

-A maximum of 13 GBK members on the mat per class. We ask that where possible, parents limit the number of family members watching their children.

This is a challenging time for us all.  At Gracie Barra Roundhay Leeds we’re confident we’ll defeat COVID and resume normal training asap.  We need your help to get there!
