Gracie Barra Roundhay Leeds
Wow! What amazing news. No we’re not talking about the vaccine (but of course that is amazing news too!), we’re talking about our unbelievable open day last Saturday. Over 30 Founder Members signed the wall and started their journey in BJJ with us. You’re all total legends. If you missed it keep reading and find out how you can still get involved.
As you will now know, this is your regular instalment of the things we’ve been up to in and around the academy, stuff that’s caught our eye this week and info that we feel benefits you, our members.
Got a specific question? Chances are we’ve answered it on our YouTube channel or Website FAQs. If you can’t find the answer, hit us up – firstname.lastname@example.org – we love to chat!
Open Day! Collective Positivity…..at last!
Did you visit on Saturday? Sign up? If you did you would have felt the energy inside the academy, it was palpable, infectious, reassuring. At the end of what has been both a bizarre and challenging year it was great to see strangers come together (safely) and get excited about the future. We shared a coffee and some cake (huge thanks to Sara for baking all night) and talked Jitz. I was humbled by everyone’s positivity and enthusiasm to start their own unique journey in BJJ. I promise you won’t regret it!
And if you missed it? Don’t worry, there’s still time to take advantage of our Founder Member offers. You can sign up online via the link below. Need help? Just get in touch and book your own private tour of the academy where we’ll be on hand to answer any questions and fit you for your first GB uniform.
Shout out to Damo who literally has just popped in and signed up….what an inspirational guy!
I left my career in the MOD in November for two reasons.
1 – I wanted to continue with my project to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean with the aim of raising over £80k for Leeds Cares and the unit that saved our son’s life.
2 – I wanted to help others to set their own big goals, discover renewed positivity & benefit from everything BJJ has to offer.
The one thing that connects these two very different aims is helping people. I believe that by helping others individually we can create great communities together.
This week we gave away 3 free annual unlimited memberships. This was our way of helping others by giving a few lucky winners something to be excited about next year. The winner of our Female membership was the lovely Colette. Congratulations Colette, we can’t wait to see you on the mats in January!
Follow us on social media to stay up to date with all of our offers, competitions & to share in the growth of our community.
Coffee & Jitz!
Last week we were joined by Ollie from North Star Coffee. Ollie helped create the perfect coffee and tested the strength of our espresso using sapphire refraction (who knew!!)
We’re extremely proud to continue to build local relationships with amazing businesses who share our passion for sustainability, ethics & generally just doing the right thing.
Our honesty bar will be open in January. You can also grab your own bag of North Star from our pro-shop and brew up the best coffee in Leeds at home before you leave for training!
We’re hiring!! To ensure our members have the best possible experience at your academy we’re keen to find the right person to be our Front Desk Receptionist & Customer Experience Champion.
Initially a part-time role, including Saturday mornings and early evenings (total 8-10 hours) during the week, this key member of our team will be responsible for ensuring everyone arriving at your academy is met with a huge smile and will always be on hand to help new & existing members have an amazing time.
No experience is required. We’re keen to hear from super positive, friendly, people focussed legends aged 13+.
