Gracie Barra Roundhay Leeds
How’s your Sunday going? Hopefully better than the weather!!
This is your regular instalment of the things we’ve been up to in and around the academy, stuff that’s caught our eye this week and info that we feel benefits you, our members.
Got a specific question? Chances are we’ve answered it on our YouTube channel or Website FAQs. If you can’t find the answer, hit us up – firstname.lastname@example.org – we love to chat!
Lockdown Low? Light at the end of the tunnel!
The news this week was difficult for everyone. We wanted to send our best wishes to all of you who have suffered and who are continuing to suffer as a result of COVID-19 and the continued restrictions. You’ll probably be wondering what this means to us too? Will we be open? How will classes & training look? We wanted to provide some initial, honest thoughts on those important questions.
We WILL open on Saturday 9th January and classes WILL be on.
The guidance makes exemptions to a number of groups, including U18’s, and therefore our offering to our Little Champions will remain unchanged. We will of course be providing enhanced hygiene and distancing mitigations for all of our parents who will want to share in their child’s development on the mats.
I have studied the Government guidance carefully and will always ensure the health & safety of our members as my ultimate priority. I do feel however that a balance should be met given the wider impact on mental health and the need for us all to continue to connect with others, safely.
We are a Supervised Sport offering Educational content as part of a formal curriculum. This allows us to continue to offer training as these are noted as exemptions in the current guidance. We will however be adjusting some of our content to ensure increased distancing & reduced contact.
We’re all hoping that by January the landscape will look very different, with the implementation of a vaccine, but I felt it important that as a business we spoke about this with you early so that you can be assured that we are taking these decisions very seriously & will always strive to put your safety first.
What I find amazingly encouraging & inspirational is that Founder Members continue to sign up. Your resilience, positivity & drive to make 2021 a more positive year is unbelievable. Thank you…I promise you won’t regret it!
Being a Positive Influence
At Gracie Barra we believe that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is one of the best vehicles for personal growth as it teaches us, amongst other things to be humble, resilient, determined & supportive. When Carlos Gracie Sr discovered & developed BJJ in the 1920’s he sought to develop the above qualities in all who practiced the ‘gentle art’.
If you and your family want to benefit from living our values you need to become a part of our team.
Less than a Week to go!!!
Don’t forget our Grand Open Day on Saturday 5th December 2020.
We’ll be open from midday to give you and your family an opportunity to meet the team, view your amazing new academy and pick up your uniforms so you are ready to go in January.
Coach T will be on hand to help with any membership enquiries & Founder Member sign-ups will be able to sign the wall!
Our amazing North Star coffee and homemade treats will be available & FREE to all!!
(we ask all of our prospective members to be respectful of others and to wear a mask unless you have an exemption….we’ll have some by the front door if you need one). Thanks in advance for helping us to keep everyone safe.
Accept your personal invite below!
Stay safe, stay strong, see you on Saturday!!!
